I have just started submitting images to libraries. Does anyone submit to,or know anything about Picturenation.co.uk?

Started with a flourish a couple of years or so ago, then seemed to die, but I heard it has been revived.

I used Fotolia and iStockphoto for about 5 years. My experience of their processes was quite frustrating. I spent many hours choosing and uploading images, then adding context and descriptive intros and titles to them. All very slow and hard work.

Many of the images were rejected due to similar images already available. They were good images just not good enough.

Anyway, I never made any money, because some stock library will not pay out any money until you reach a specified amount on your account. So alhtough I sold about 50 images I have never been paid. Slightly annoying but a good lesson learned.

On a positive finish. I sold an 'exclusive' licence for one image via Flickr. $1000 for one image direct to a guy working for Allianz Finance. People do look through Flickr too.
