Charles Taylor, managing director of Photoshot Holdings Limited, today announced that Photoshot Holdings has purchased the specialist Photo News Service news photo agency based in the Old Bailey in London.
Charles said, “The addition of Photo News Service to our family of collections is another significant milestone in our plan to establish Photoshot as a quality-based, full service, international photo library group. Photo News Service perfectly complements our existing news operation Universal Pictorial Press & Agency (UPPA), and particularly our work with the judiciary.” (UPPA takes and supplies the formal portraits of judges.)
“We are extremely excited at becoming the new custodian of this collection and will do everything possible to build on the tradition of specialist service that Photo News has provided since 1985. We can now supply images of people appearing on both sides of the Bar.“
“Photoshot has now acquired a total of ten complementary photo businesses since 2001,” Charles continued, “and services customers from wholly-owned offices in New York, London and Hamburg. With this growth, we are confident that we can supply a broad range of quality imagery to picture buyers, be it a live news picture, an archival record, an entertainment event, an exclusive celebrity portrait, a travel shot, a wildlife image or a creative shot. Photoshot is one of only a few agencies that can supply this mixture of news and stock imagery.”
Daily images from the courts will be supplied as part of the UPPA daily news feed and will appear on the Photoshot website as part of UPPA and daily news. Over the next few months all images on the Photo News Service website will be transferred to the www.photoshot.com site.
