Press Release:

The deadline for the fourth International Garden Photographer of the Year competition is fast approaching. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this prestigious competition. Deadline – 30 November 2010.

This year we have an outstanding range of awards on offer, including a top cash prize of £5000 for the overall winner plus a Royal Photographic Society gold medal for the Portfolio winner.

Whether you win or not, IGPOTY has something to offer everyone. Uniquely among photography competitions, we offer every photographer who enters the chance to receive a personal email critique of their entry from the judges (once the winners are announced) as well as an invitation to an Entrants’ Day in 2011 at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

There are six categories, with awards for single images as well as portfolios. There are also special awards for the image that best portrays the ‘Spirit of the American Garden’, the ‘Best Image of Kew Gardens’ and the ‘Best Image of Wakehurst Place’.

Judges for this year’s IGPOTY competition include leading professional garden photographers Clive Nichols and Andrew Lawson; Ray Spence, FRPS; Nigel Atherton, Editor of What Digital Camera magazine and renowned wildlife photographer Heather Angel.
