The NUJ have launched a campaign to fight cutbacks by over profitable Media companies.
The National Union of Journalists have launched a campaign to fight the cutbacks that are being imposed on their membership by Media companies that they claim are making excessive profits!
"Members of the National Union of Journalists are fighting these short-term measures with negotiations, industrial action, political lobbying, and community campaigns." says their web posting.
The page also includes an interactive map of places that have suffered cutbacks and closures over the last six months or so, and the campaign includes a whistleblower hotline for reporting planned cutbacks where members jobs are at risk.
"Countless NUJ members in national newspapers and magazines are facing restructuring exercises, which employers hope will mean fewer people doing more work." states the report, while Media companies are making two and three times the profit of concerns like Tesco and Sainsbury's.
