Picture Sheffield is looking for a photographer to help make a visual record of the City

17/10/2008 - 10:09

Picture Sheffield is looking for a photographer to help to make a visual record of the city.

Picture Sheffield, based in the Local Studies Library, records the history and experience of Sheffield and its people and is the major public access image collection in the city. The collection is constantly growing and we are seeking an enthusiastic photographer to join our team. You will contribute to the on-going visual record by undertaking digital photography and processing images for inclusion on Picture Sheffield.

No formal photographic qualifications are required but you must be an experienced professional or amateur photographer and be able to demonstrate your ability to produce good quality black and white and colour images.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to present a portfolio of work. Some experience of image manipulation would be useful but training will be provided. You must be able to organise your own work schedule, be prepared to work alone and be able to maintain accurate records.

An interest in and knowledge of the Sheffield area would be an advantage. Applicants should have a current driving licence and access to a vehicle and be able to respond to changing demands at short notice. Sheffield City Council is currently undertaking a pay and grading review - as part of the review, the grade and salary for this post may be subject to change.
